A Thank You Letter from Help for Heroes

"Dear MMP,

Thank you so much for your donation of £502.60 to Help for Heroes (H4H). Your support is making a huge difference to the lives of some truly inspirational people.

One such person is Trooper Lee Matthews, who went into hospital for a routine operation three and a half years ago. However, complications left him with constant pain, muscle spasms and fatigue. For a long time this made life very difficult, as Lee became depressed.

Then he was introduced to Wheelchair Basketball and his life was transformed. In his own words, "when I am sitting in that chair the pain just fades away and I am completely free".

On Saturday 13th September, Lee took to the court to represent his country once more; this time at the Invictus Games where, with the British Armed Forces Wheelchair Basketball team, he won a Gold medal.

Lee says "The Invictus Games helped me fall in love with life again and I will never be able to express just how much Wheelchair Basketball now means to me. I owe Help for Heroes - and everyone who supports them - a debt of gratitude that I can never repay. So, thank you for doing your bit; everyone who has suffered a life-changing injury or illness appreciates and is thankful for the support".

The battle continues and H4H must be there for Lee whenever he might need, and for the 75,000 other heroes who are likely to need support over the coming years.
